Revolved Camel Pose
The revolved camel pose is one of the basic yoga poses and it can be practiced by beginners.
Sit on your legs like in child’s pose. Your big toes should be touching each other and your heels should be facing the opposite direction. Keep your spine and torso erect and your shoulders bent backwards towards your spine. Slowly raise your upper body, hips and buttocks off your legs to a kneeling position. Ensure to keep your spine and torso erect whilst rising up.
Once you come to a kneeling position, slowly lift one hand straight over your head and your shoulders. Bring it behind your body in the same manner and touch you’re the soles of your feet with your fingers. This should cause your body to bend backwards. Your back should be arched backwards when you do this. To reach the style of revolved camel pose raise your pelvis and try and move your tailbone forward.
Then slowly raise your other hand straight over your head and shoulders and spread all your fingers. This should cause a twist in your body and your shoulders will be aligned vertically one below the other. Keep them firm. Bend your neck slowly backwards and lift your head upwards. Look in the direction of the raised arm towards the ceiling while in revolved camel pose.
